Exactly four and a half months after Russell Martin's initial media briefing as the club's head coach, successor Danny Rohl met with reporters at Ibrox for the first time.

The scale of the task ahead of him is widely recognized, given his predecessor's chaotic and disappointing 123-day spell.

The former Sheffield Wednesday manager was joined by club chairman the chairman, along with the much-criticized duo of football director Kevin Thelwell and chief executive Patrick Stewart.

But what exactly was revealed from the 36-year-old coach's maiden media outing as the club's manager?

The Manager's Main Priority - Winning Comes First

One thing came through loud and clear from the new coach's first appearance in front of the local press - he understands the need to win matches, and do so quickly.

The previous manager Martin managed just 17 matches and four months in charge, so the inquiry emerged about what timeframe the new man believes is realistic to transform the underperforming squad.

Although deftly avoiding a specific response that might create later expectations, the coach's communication was quite clear.

"With hope very quickly," he stated. "This is essential.
"In football you have limited time. One can talk about long-term vision but we know it's about the short-term and the short-term involves winning games. This is my requirement.
"One thing is also obvious - I require every squad member to understand how we want to perform. I come back to my primary message: victory comes first, entertaining football and unity. By following this order, I'm convinced that I'll stay for years here."

Expectations are Normal

The previous manager needed a police escort to exit the stadium after his final game in charge.

We've seen how toxic environments can turn at sports teams when results are poor. Demonstrations have almost become a regular part of game day experience on both sides of Glasgow these days.

As Rangers' youngest ever head coach, the inquiry was posed about which attributes the coach thinks he possesses that would enable him to handle, never mind thrive, in one of the most pressurized positions in UK soccer?

"In my opinion pressure in this business are standard," he stated. "One needs to understand that very quickly.
"I believe some people might mention my youth but I have been 16 years on this path. I had an excellent chance to be at the German club and be just the assistant coach, but I experienced what it means to manage a team and the pressure you face.
"You begin winning games and then certain people will say you must play attractive football. That's the next stage but precisely my intention. I enjoy those expectations and I look forward for the future."

Thelwell Explains Chermiti Signing & Appointing His Son

There were plenty of inquiries from journalists for Thelwell.

Significant attention has concerned the appointment of Robbie Thelwell as head of recruitment, with fans unconvinced about his credentials for the role.

However, he justified and clarified the choice to bring Thelwell Jnr to the club.

"It's always awkward to listen and in appearance I believe we all agreed when we made this step to appoint Robbie that he would be viewed negatively," Thelwell stated.
"The reality of circumstances is that we want to bring the top talent to this club.
"My perspective on Robbie's career and situation is he didn't need family help in soccer.
"He served at Aston Villa as head scout, after which he moved to Norwich City as head of scouting and then got promoted to player pathways manager.
"Before we recruited him, two Premier League teams sought to sign him. Our approach right at the start of the process was consult with Patrick, the chairman and vice-chairman Marathe about this situation.
"I remained highly open and I believe he likely underwent a stricter process than anybody else who's employed by this football club.
"What I do know is that he will work constantly to achieve success for this football club and I anticipate to him proving that he'll become an excellent employee for Rangers."

Thelwell also supported the signing of forward Youssef Chermiti, who arrived at the club for a reported initial fee of £8m, having failed to score in 24 appearances for his previous club.

The sporting director who transferred the Portugal youth international to Liverpool from Sporting Lisbon - again for large funds in a fifteen million pound deal.

He was asked if he supports his multi-million pound signing, who hasn't yet register in seven matches for Rangers.

"Yes, very much so," Thelwell responded. "I think Youssef Chermiti represents who's got great ability.
"I haven't doubted him whatsoever. Similarly, I think the manager will assist in maximize the potential out of the player.
"These are initial stages for him, he remains young talent and naturally with young talents they sometimes take time.
"But I'm certain over the course of his career at the club he'll demonstrate that he is highly capable footballer."

Stewart Understands Supporters' Frustration and Hurt

Stewart was also facing scrutiny, given the vitriol that has been directed at him by certain of the club's own supporters.

There was even a banner in the Sandy Jardine stand during the last tie with Dundee United suggesting him - and the sporting director - to depart before they were packed for them.

Like his sporting director, Stewart didn't evade the topic.

"I completely appreciate the frustration and hurt that fans are experiencing because results recently haven't been good enough and nobody's happy with those," he stated.
"The hurt and frustration fans experience is matched within the leadership.
"Also understand that there has to be a channel for those frustrations and as chief executive, that's me.
"I serve as lightning rod for those and my responsibility as a
